USENIX 2006, Boston

I just got back from USENIX in Boston, which was interesting. You know you’re at a good technical conference when all the rooms have open wireless, and each table has a power strip…

But why wasn’t there a session on advanced SSH???

This year’s social event was (watching the penguins at) the Aquarium. The poor BSDers didn’t get to visit with Beastie, though. I got a bunch of pics and a little video (snake & penguins):
iPod friendly, 3.7mb | CD quality, 2.9mb | stream quality, 666kb

Amusing USENIX tidbit: I saw about 60% Mac laptops, about 30% PC laptops (mostly in the hands of the BSDers), and about 10% PC laptops that appeared to be running Linux. There’s plenty of room for those PC laptops to be replaced by dual-core MacBooks next year, still running BSD.
